In the USA, Australia and some other countries of Western Europe enhanced educational programmes in perinatal medicine are being running. In Russia by now there were no conditions for specialists of such profile. Such conferences provide a great opportunity for research and current clinical practice results exchange between local and foreign specialists and enable to raise qualification level of local specialists to meet the world standards.

In the course of the conference various aspects of current approaches to premature birth management as well as role of different infections and inflammatory response in pathogenesis were discussed. Besides, issues of abnormal labor, assessment methods of fetal and newborn maturity, and even medicolegal issues in obstetrics were covered on the conference.
