The Clinical research unit (CRU) was organized in Almazov Research Institute for Cardiology in 2006 to improve the quality of biomedical trials, it proceeds to function
in Federal Center “Almazov Federal Heart, Blood and Endocrinology Centre of Federal  Agency on High Medical Technologies”.

The legal aspects of its work are summarized in “The Regulation for the  Clinical research unit".

The main functions of the Clinical research unit  are:

• Organizational support of clinical trials for medicines  and medical equipment;
• Coordination of the Center's activities concerning the conduction of International Multicentral Clinical Trials;
• Issuance and approval of contracts and other documents;
• Acquisition and analysis of data, related to the conduction of International Multicentral Clinical Trials;
• Organization of the Post-graduate educational cycle «Good Clinical Practice» (GCP);
• Coordination of the  Archive for documents of completed trials;
• Informational support.
